Flowers are blooming in the Sequoia National Forest. Here is one of those flowers called a Purple Fairy Lantern. I know, it doesn't look purple, but that is what they call it.
The scientific name is Calochortus Amoenus. This flower also hangs from the stem, so it blooms facing the ground. It is about to bloom, so the pedals are still closed.
I absolutely love this shot, it's beautiful to look at. My only question is: Did you add that texture or does it have something to do with your camera? Did you do anything else with it in Photoshop?

The texture behind the flower is the pants I am wearing. They are Nomex pants. It was really windy outside so the only way I could do a photo of the flower was to pluck it, get up next to the truck for a wind shield, use my Nomex as a "green" background and snap the shot . No Photoshop texture filter used. Photoshop was only used for contrast adjustments.
